WINS PEACE TROPHY

The
Progressive People’s Party emerged as champions of the National Peace Football
Gala organized in December last year by Real Plan Foundation for political
parties.
The
PPP progressed from the preliminary stage of the competition by way of
technical knockout (NDP were qualified) to beat tournament favourites NDC 1 – 0
in a fiercely contested semi - final match to qualify for the final.
PPP
beat CPP 4 – 3 on penalties in the final match after a goalless draw to win the
trophy.
Speaking after the presentation of the
trophy, captain of PPP, Patrick Armah, thanked God Almighty for helping them
win the trophy and congratulated his team mates and the coach for their commitment
and diligence.
Chairman
of the PPP, Nii Allotey Brew Hammond congratulated the team and advised the
youth to be ambassadors of peace and entreated Ghanaians to avoid any conduct
that will be detrimental to Ghana’s peace.
A presentation ceremony will be
organized to officially present the trophy to Dr. Ndoum.
The competition which was under the
theme “PEACE AND TRANQUILITY” was contested by Seven political parties namely
PPP, NPP, NDC, CPP, GFP, APC, and PNC.
